JEOL 6300 workstation has been upgraded
A few new procedures are in place after the linux workstation upgrade. The quickstart document in the cleanroom will be updated in the next few days to reflect these changes.

1. If the ebxmenu program is not already running when you log in, either open it with the ebxmenu icon on the desktop and then click the Run button, or open a terminal from Applications -> System Tools and type the command: ebxmenu (same as the method used on the JEOL 9500).

2. If you have to log out and log back in, you will need to turn off the power on the monitor on the right, then turn it back on.

3. Read-only condition files which you have to copy all begin with "CNF_" now.

4. The 10 nA 60 um aperture condition file has been replaced with a 10 nA 130 um file on JEOL's recommendation, so if you use 10 nA you will need to edit your schedule file appropriately.

5. Before using EOSSET to restore the condition file parameters to the column, you need to use File->Load in the Calibration program, and select the file. This is the same as the method used on the JEOL 9500.

6. If INITBE or INITAE is set to use a scan wider than 4 um, then after the first scan you should set the scan width to 4 um. Click Edit Parameters, then Settings, then set X and Y scan widths to 4 um and OK the change.
