Lab Closed, May 27th - 29th
The lab will be closed to all users from 6 AM Tuesday, May 27th, until mid afternoon on Thursday, the 29th. This shutdown is so that maintenance can be done on campus and building wide utility systems. The cleanroom and all second floor lab space of the CNF will be closed. The offices and CAD room will still be available except for a few brief periods Wednesday morning. The time of the lab reopening on Thursday afternoon is not set, as it depends on how quickly the building systems return to normal.

CNF Research Materials Due May 23rd
TO: All CNF Principal Investigators and Users FROM: Don Tennant and George Malliaras RE: CNF Research Materials Due May 23rd Dear friends: It is time once again to plan for the Cornell NanoScale Facility Research Accomplishments. As you may recall, one of the requirements of using the CNF for your research is the submission of an annual TECHNICAL REPORT. We also need a comprehensive list of all PATENTS, PRESENTATIONS, and PUBLICATIONS which relate to work done at the CNF in the past year.
The Deadline is May 23rd.....

2008 June CNF TCN
We strongly encourage all new users and persons expecting to become CNF users in 2008 to attend the CNF short course, Technology & Characterization at the Nanoscale. Please register by Monday, May 19th. The class is limited to 33 participants.

VB6 is down for repair of PG problem
A Vistec engineer is working on the pattern generator ethernet link timeout errors. Earliest possible time to back up is the end of the day on Wed. 5/14, but it may go farther toward the end of the week.

Photolith Training Sessions Week of May 12th
This week's General Photolithography training session will meet in the resist spinner room Tuesday, May 13th, at 1:30 PM. This week's Pattern Generator training session will meet at the tool Tuesday, May 13th, at 3:00 PM. No pre-registration is necessary.

New Polyimide Oven Recipes
The recipes on the YES Polyimide Bake Oven has been updated. Be sure to review the new documentation at the tool to make sure you are using the correct recipe.

Calico being Retired
Calico is being replaced by Korat.cnf.cornell.edu, and calico will be turned off May 1, 2008.
As of the week of March 21, 2008, user accounts and user data have been copied to Korat.
Please begin using Korat instead of Calico.
Logins to Korat and Calico are restricted to users currently at the Cornell NanoScale Facility.

CNF/CHESS Workshop
The Cornell NanoScale Facility and the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) invite you to attend a jointly organized workshop entitled, Probing the Nanoscale: X-rays Meet Nanofabrication. The workshop will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 -- in conjunction with the CHESS Annual Users' Meeting.

CHESS/CNF Workshop

Dear colleagues: The Cornell NanoScale Facility and the Cornell High Energy Synchrotron Source (CHESS) invite you to attend a jointly organized workshop entitled, Probing the Nanoscale: X-rays Meet Nanofabrication. The workshop will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2008 -- in conjunction with the CHESS Annual Users' Meeting. The joint CHESS/CNF workshop is sponsored by the Kavli Institute at Cornell and looks to be an outstanding program of invited speakers (see link below). You are invited to register for any of the events. Workshop attendees are also invited to join us for a wine-tasting and dinner event at Sheldrake Winery on June 11!
