The campus-wide upgrade of WiFi will happen on Saturday, June 16th. Along with upgrading the operating system, other configuration changes will occur that will affect all users.
• Saturday morning all WiFi networks (Cornell-Visitor, RedRover, eduroam) will not be available during the upgrade.
• After the upgrade all Eduroam users will have to re-authenticate once and accept the new network-access.it.cornell.edu certificate. This will be true even if you never had to authenticate before.
• After the upgrade a few Eduroam users will see a 60 second delay in the re-authentication. This will occur for Windows users that might have had certificates or pass-through credentials checked in the WiFi settings.
• The old network-access.it.cornell.edu certificate is expiring on June 23.
• Cornell's eduroam authentication configuration is being corrected to match standard eduroam requirements. This will allow traveling Cornell users to use eduroam at over 450 other Colleges and Universities in the US https://www.eduroam.us/institutions_list and thousands round the world, see https://www.eduroam.org/where/ The use of machine certificates or pass-through credentials will not work at other institutions.
