2023-2024 CNF Technical Reports Deadline: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2025
Please submit one report per CNF user or small group (up to three or four users). Even if a project is complete or a user has graduated and left Cornell, a report is still required. Large research groups should submit separate reports for each team.
A] Report Submission Requirements:
- Written Report: Submit as a PDF file.
- Figures: Submit each figure as a separate image file (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF).
- File Name Format: YourProj#YourLastName (e.g., 12345LastName.pdf, 12345LastNameFig1.jpg).
Please email your report files to Emma Carlo, CNF Student Program Coordinator, prior to the deadline.
IMPORTANT: ZIP files are blocked by our server. Please avoid emailing them.
CNF RESEARCH ACCOMPLISHMENTS INSTRUCTIONS

- Provide a concise description of the past year's technical achievements (up to 1000 words), including the following sections:
- Abstract:
- Summary of Research:
- References:
- List only the major CNF tools used (e.g., no need to list hot plates).
- The word count includes the abstract, summary, references, and captions but does not include the summary report information at the start of the document.

- Graphics (JPEG/PNG/TIF) – 4 Maximum:
- Graphics include device photos, graphs, formulas, and tables.
- Please send only four individual images.
- Do not exceed the 4-graphic maximum.
- Email Submission:
- Use your CNF project number as the first part of the subject line: YourProj# YourLastName's Technical Report (e.g., 12345LastName.pdf). Project number can be located in NEMO
- Summary Report Information (Required at the Start):
- Do not abbreviate terms (e.g., spell out "Electrical and Computer Engineering", "National Science Foundation").
- List email addresses separately.
- Text Formatting Guidelines:
- Keep it simple: no columns, bold, or hypertext.
- Do not refer to specific figure placements (e.g., "In Figure 3 below..."). Instead, just say "In Figure 3."
- Captions should be at the end of the PDF document, not included within the images themselves.
- Graphics/Photo Rules:
- Name the files as: YourProj#YourLastNameFig1.jpg (e.g., 12345LastNameFig1.jpg).
- Formulas count as graphics.
- Ensure your figures are readable even when resized for print.
- Keep in mind that all printed figures will be in grayscale, so if your graph relies on color, it may not be clear in the printed report.

- Reports are due by Friday, February 21, 2025.
- Submit one report per user or small group.

- Adhere to the 1000-word maximum for the report (in PDF format).
- Include all summary report information, spelled out.
