First Time Lab and Tool Usage

Effective January 2, 2025

To ensure that first-time, inexperienced cleanroom users apply their training promptly, the CNF will enforce the following policy beginning January 2nd 2025. This policy aims to prevent users from forgetting how to work safely in the cleanroom and not damage equipment. 

Cleanroom Access for Inexperienced Users:

• First-time, inexperienced users who complete the initial safety training but do not use the cleanroom within two months of training will have their access paused.
   
• To regain access, users must retake the safety training.

Equipment Training for Inexperienced Users:

To prevent first-time, inexperienced equipment users from forgetting how to operate tools safely and effectively, CNF will enforce this additional policy: 

• Users who complete training on specific tools but do not use the equipment for a one-month period will lose access to the equipment. 
   
• Retraining will be required, and the associated costs-including staff and equipment time-will be charged to the user's project.
